The will Skelton greenway in south knoxville, part of Forks of the River. The words "Uban Wilderness" are written on the image.

While Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness (only minutes from downtown Knoxville) may be most famous for its excellent mountain biking trails, it also offers fun hiking trails, greenway biking, fantastic playgrounds, a nature center, paddleboarding and kayaking adventures, and even a ropes course.

All of the parks are free to access and have plenty to offer for everyone – beginner mountain bikers, paddleboarders, and hikers will have just as much fun as experienced enthusiasts. Plus, there are wonderful restaurants and breweries in the small but growing commercial areas around the Urban Wilderness.

Our family loves to spend a day in the Urban Wilderness, and it truly is a unique Knoxville experience for locals and visitors alike.
